Kaspersky Anti Virus False Positive
Hi everyone.
If you have been using Kaspersky Anti Virus products and have been getting a warning on pages where whos.amung.us widgets are installed in the past day, don't worry! This is a false positive and not an actual virus or trojan as may be reported.
I have contacted Kaspersky and they immediately confirmed that it was a false positive and the next update will fix this issue. Thanks to Kaspersky for responding so quickly!
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us.
Update: 12:53:39 Kaspersky has responded and stated that they have updated their virus definition and signature file - false positives should no longer occur. Please contact us if there are any more concerns.
Update: 14:42:18 Just verified with an installation of Kaspersky AV 2010 that the false positive no longer appears. Thanks to Kaspersky for a prompt response!
Update: 16:42:18 There have been some reports of other AV programs giving the same positive, if you are getting these notices please contact us so we can work with them to get rid of this false positive. The piece of code causing the issue has been removed until we can get everything sorted out.
Update: 18:08:00 F-Secure has confirmed this is a false positive as well and has issued an update.

July 10th Errors
Hi Everybody,
First of all I want to apologize for the intermittent down time we had a few hours ago, we're responding to all your emails and want to thank you for bearing with us. As to what happened, we made a network wide change (to improve the speed and, ironically, the stability of our services) that (clearly) did not go as planned, we expected a few minutes of downtime at most but experienced a combined total of quite a bit more. The change was easy to implement but we were experiencing hugely unreliable communication between servers when implemented. After much frustration and work we decided to revert the change and everything is work fine again.
I'd also like to apologize for the lack of real time communication with our users, since this change affected ALL of the servers we were unable to inform you of what was going on. Next time we make a network change like this we will phase it in if possible so as to minimize disturbances should we experience inconsistent behavior like we did today.
Thanks for your patience, and look for some new products very soon!

Watch the Spread of Firefox 3.5 in Real Time!
As the browser of choice here at whos.amung.us we always try to stay up to date on the latest Firefox happenings, and since we like stats so much we decided to combine the two and chart, map, and list the usage of the new Firefox 3.5 browser (which rocks by the way), check it out at http://whos.amung.us/firefox
Downtime
We experienced some downtime earlier today, we're working to find the root cause of the problem - all data will be restored shortly.
Update: 17:42:12 We've found the source of the problem and are working on resolving it, we do not anticipate any more downtime while we fix the problem. Thanks for your patience. All data is being restored as we speak.
